Kolej Kediaman Kinabalu (KK8) is the 8th Residential College at Universiti Malaya, proudly standing as one of the most prominent student residences on campus.

Kolej Kediaman Kinabalu (KK8) is the 8th Residential College at Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur. Named after Mount Kinabalu – the highest mountain in South East Asia – the college embodies strength, pride, and academic excellence.

The college was completed in 1985 and held its grand opening ceremony on 18 December 1987. Construction funding was fully provided by Yayasan Sabah (Sabah Foundation).

KK8 can accommodate between 700 to 900 undergraduates per year, with approximately 800 students currently residing there. Over the years the college has been home to roughly 10,000 undergraduates.

College Structure

KK8 consists of 6 residential blocks – 2 for male students and 4 for female students. Each room accommodates up to 3 students with a double-deck and single bed in a V-shaped layout for personal study space.
